According to a ruling by the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf dated July 13, 2010 (I-20 U 235/08), no separate remuneration is payable for the use of photographs in an e-paper if the photographer has already granted usage rights for the print edition and the circulation of the e-paper is comparatively low relative to the print edition.
